I love color and texture and shape. The way it feels to put paint on the canvas, to make something emerge from nothing is beautiful. I like for each viewer to have their own experience with my contribution being the visual. When there is no title, I can look at a painting and have a lovely experience of, say, an aging Latino revolutionary and the person next to me can see, in the same painting, a great likeness to his uncle Joe. I love that. I love the way some people need to see objects in abstracts (and always find them) while some are completely happy and satisfied with color and texture and the sense of something. And I suppose that something is what I am out to capture.
